Chapter 21 -- Marked for Greatness

Figure out Harry Potter’s scar. If you aren’t familiar with Harry Potter, select another character with a physical imperfection and analyze its implications for characterization.

In Finding Nemo, Nemo was born with a physical deformity of his own. He has one small fin, this affected his ability to swim. Therefore, that advances the plot in the film. Nemo didn’t swim fast enough so he wasn’t able to get away. He was taken from his father and then that leads to Marlin and Dory’s adventure to find Nemo. An author adds the physical imperfections to a character in order to differentiate him/her. Nemo is a special clownfish, he is the only one out of his other siblings who survived. His mother also died, leaving him and his dad, Marlin.

    1. I love Finding Nemo! Also, I didn't think of his deformed fin as a "mark," but after reading the chapter it makes sense as to why Nemo was given that deformity.

      Delete
    2. This is quite a good observation. If it weren't for Nemo's deformity, there would have likely been no advancement to the plot at all. He could not swim away from the diver fast enough to get back to his dad because of the small fin, which caused him to be captured.

      Delete
    3. Even if Nemo had two good fins, he would have likely still been caught by the diver due to the shock he experienced, but the fin definitely made him more distinguishable and easier to find.

    4. I love Finding Nemo! I never thought about how imperfections are used to differentiate.

    5. This is a good example. I agree that Nemo's deformity was necessary to the plot. I love Finding Nemo!

In the film adaptation of “Beastly,” Kyle Kingson is an arrogant teenager who pulls a prank on his classmate, and witch, Kendra. To retaliate, Kendra puts a spell on Kyle to make him as ugly as his soul for one year. Kyle turns into a modern-day beast with scars covering his face and body. If no one falls in love with him for his heart within the year, his appearance remains permanent.

Kyle’s newly achieved appearance in “Beastly” is clearly representative of the appearance of his heart. He has treated people poorly for a long time, and he is not a good person in his heart, despite his handsome looks. So when Kendra the witch places a spell on him to match his outward appearance to the content of his heart, he turns into a beast. Over the course of the year, with the help of a girl named Lindy, Kyle overcomes his previous ways and his character develops into someone with a beautiful soul.

    1. I absolutely love "Beastly!" It's an amazing book and movie. I definitely think his scars played a huge role in the plot advancement for this story and it was quite a unique form of scarring in literature. Most people don't get scars because they were too handsome to begin with.

  3. In final fantasy Unlimited (one of the only final fantasy anime I could find online the Chocobo that Ahi and Yu befriend named Choby has a weird collar around it's neck which later on in the last episode was means of "Controlling" their journey throughout wonderland in the episode befroe the last one however the Chocobo and almost everyone excet for Kaze, White Cloud, Ahi, Yu, and Lisa, and later on in the episode it turns out that Moggle and Lu did not die and they come to their aid, but also in that last episode supposedly are part of Omega the wrathful titan, so Choby, Ahi, and Yu in the anime series final fantasy unlimited are marked for greatness and in the middle of the series Choby gets the power of speed and flying when he touches the chocobo monolith even though the story makes no sense right now thanks to me not fully explaining it a must see to understand fully without me spoiling every little detail there is to the story and side story and it is a Fantasy, Comedy, Action, and just great anime series without anti because just dear god no, and James will know what I mean by that. Also Kaze in the story line has a dark past that you mostly see in flashbacks and sorry for the spoiler in the flashbacks it is him and his sister and she is dying since she told him to use her aura in his Magun to defeat chaos and omega the first time, which was fully explained in the last episode. Also if it counts Choby has a thing for grabbing on to Ahi's hair and pulling her around a lot in the series and for death peppers which in the story which in comparison to a ghost pepper the ghost pepper is a drop of water in the ocean, and Choby Eats them whole and I am not kidding, also after he eats the pepper every time he will turn into a living flamethrower in a sense that he breathes fire and destroys and burns everything and about Choby and the hair thing with Ahi link to a picture of him about to latch on to her hair here : http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aichobi_2392.jpg
so yeah it is a great anime series and I wish they had more that 25 episodes but hey length does not matter to me only explaining everything in the least ruining way to people who had not watched it.
So Choby, Ahi, Yu, and Kaze are marked for greatness in this series also in the end Kaze sacrifices his soul to the Magun so that Yu, Ahi, and lisa can use it to defeat Chaos who was the Earl Tyrant.

  4. The lightning bolt shaped scar on Harry Potter’s forehead is his distinguishing mark. Anyone going as Harry Potter for Halloween absolutely needs the scar, without it, they aren’t Harry, they’re just someone with a wand and glasses. Due to all the emphasis being put on it, those three lines on that kid’s forehead almost definitely signify something.

Lightning is the model of the shape of Harry’s scar for quite a few possible reasons, but the main reason is probably related to something a lighting bolt is symbolic of in today’s world: power. Power is what those three lines probably signify because if a boy is going to take down a man so feared and so powerful, people are afraid to say his name, than that boy will need a great deal of power.

In the movie, "The Best of Me," Dawson Cole and Amanda Collier are away in an old cottage house when Amanda sees some of Dawson's old scars that his father gave him. As he began to list reason for them such as back-talk, being late, or disrespect, this makes Amanda upset because she knows his father put him through pain.

Dawson tells Amanda that everything is okay and he doesn't even think about the scars he has. This scars make Dawson who he was. It shows that even though he lived a rough life with abuse, both verbal and physical, he can overcome that to be someone better than his father and make something out of his life.

  6. In Call of Duty Advance Warfare, the main character is trying to destroy his main target, an aircraft but his partner's arm gets stuck in a door and he detonates the target killing himself. Afterwards, debris is falling everywhere and a piece of metal falls right on his arm chopping it off in an instant. Later in the campaign he was going to his friends funeral and he gets a visit by his dead partner's father who works and operates a private military throughout the world. The man offers him a job with his private military and the main characters previous boss says he is in no condition to fight again. The private military man said he would give him a new arm and new beginning so the main character accepted and joined the private military. Throughout the campaign this character's arm does not act right and even though the private military's technology is highly advanced it does not function well. His physical imperfection gives the character courage to continue to being the best he can be.

His arm malfunctions in the worst moments and he always had to improvise in that situation so he would not get killed. His ability to improvise with an unreliable arm and not exit the military is amazing and what makes the character unique than anyone else. Near the end his arm was destroyed by the man who offered him the arm because he was corrupt and he still carried out his assigned mission which shows how his determination for going on with or without an arm.

  7. Ren from the "The Good Thief" lacks one of thieves best tools, a hand. Ren lost his hand as a very young child and was soon orphaned. Ren lacking his hand is very symbolic for his lack of a family. Living in an orphanage his entering life without a hand gave Ren a hatred for the world he was stuck with. Lacking a hand also gives the story a bit of irony. One would think that not having a hand would make Ren worse at his job, but it opened several doors for him. His adoptive thief of a father chose to adopt Ren because of his handicap. His innocent portrayal also helped him be more adept at the basics of his job, albeit that this amputation did serve to make life harder for him in many key scenarios which helped add to the action of the story.

As an infant, Harry Potter is left with the scar of a lightning bolt upon coming into contact with Lord Voldemort for the first time. Voldemort has killed so many others before Harry’s parents, and it is astonishing that he is weakened by an infant child. However, this shows that the power of love that the parents were able to give to Harry was much stronger than the power that Voldemort contained. Harry’s scar is a symbol of the terrible night in which his parents were killed, but also a reminder of the love his parents bestowed upon him.

The lightning bolt itself symbolizes power and strength, two qualities that Harry contains. Usually when we see lightning bolts, there is a storm occurring. This scar symbolizes the beginning of Harry’s storm, and that even though it will be a long storm to Hogwart’s, he will prosper and make it through because he is strong. In mythology, Zeus had the symbol of a lightning bolt and was the ruler of the Gods. This also puts Harry as a potential leader for all the wizards at Hogwarts. His scar may be a symbol that he will be a great ruler.

  9. When I think of a character with physical imperfections, I immediately think of “Dumbo”. When he was born, his ears were abnormally large. Without Dumbo’s big ears, the story wouldn’t really have much of a plot due to the fact that a huge part of the movie is due to the fact that Dumbo can use his comically large ears to fly and without that physical imperfection, Dumbo would not be able to fly and amaze the people at the circus. Another reason that this film would not have a plot without Dumbo’s physical imperfection is simply because every single thing that occurred in the film, revolved around the imperfection. Others teased Dumbo because of his big ears which outraged his mother and that caused her to be locked up.

In the movie Soul Surfer a surfer named Bethany Hamilton was working her way up to a big competition. While out in the water one day she was attacked by a shark that left her with one arm. Her surfing career was threatened, and almost ended, but she kept hope. She didn't let her physical disadvantage stop her from pursuing her career as a surfer.

This disadvantage made her a better person and it allowed her to realize that she can do anything she puts her mind to. Even though this movie was based on a true story it is still literature. Her disadvantage constantly reminded her that she survived for a reason. Her loss of her arm gave her something else as a person.

Her losing her arm was also a bit ironic because she became better at surfing after she lost her arm. Surfing requires balance and agility, so not having an arm would make that a bit hard. Her disability became her ability.

Cool fact: My friend's brother was/is going to marry the woman that the movie was about.

The movie that I though of when it stated "select another character with a physical imperfection and analyze its implications for characterization" I thought of the movie "Bolt" by Chris Williams and Byron Howard.

This movie is about a dog named Bolt, and he has a mark on his fur in the shape of a lightning bolt. In the movie Bolt is an actor in Hollywood and has 'special powers', but come to find out he is a fake and every 'power' he has is special effects for the show he stars in.

With this imperfection on his fur, Bolt would not be able to use his powers. The movie continues to show that Bolt's owner is 'taken' by an evil villein (in the show) but he does not realize that, so Bolt does everything he can to rescue her. That even includes running away.

The movie goes on to show that Bolt comes across a cat named Mittens, and a hamster named Rhino, and they all become good friends. When Bolt and the others are traveling the US to find Bolts owner (Penny) his 'mark' is just custom paint. When Mittens points out that he is fake and that he is just a part of a movie Bolt doesn't believe her so he leaves to go back to Hollywood alone to try and find Penny (Bolt's owner). When back at the studio the show is filmed in, Bolt finds Penny hanging in the air (For the show), when Bolts new replacement dog comes to rescue her, he is scared, and somehow starts a fire. The actual Bolt saves Penny, and at the end of the movie Bolt, and Penny quite their job at the Hollywood studio, and go to live in their house with Rhino, Mittens, Bolt, Penny, and her Mom.

Without Bolts 'mark' on his side he would not be able to have the powers he has in the show. When Bolt runs away to 'find' Penny his bolt mark is slowly going away, and he is starting to realize that he does not need the mark to have the best power of all, Loving the one's that love you.

In the TV series “Arrow” Oliver Queen has many scars and imperfections due to all the torture he has endured. Oliver's scars do not make him incapable of doing normal human activities, in fact Oliver is more than capable of everyday human activities. Oliver's scars are a sign of what he has been through, therefore, furthering the plot of the series. Oliver’s scars show he has had a rough couple of years, his rough years turned him into the man he is today. The man Oliver is today is a man who seems to be superhuman, he is very strong, fast, and can do items an everyday human cannot. Since I am not familiar with anything to do with Harry Potter, I will chose the latter. In the Disney movie Tangled, Rapunzel has magical hair. When a certain song is sang, her hair glows and it heals any wound. This happened when she was a baby. Her mother was going to pass away during childbirth but the special flower was found and her mother lived. When Rapunzel was a baby, Mother Gothel broke into the castle and kidnapped Rapunzel, locking her away in a tower. She uses Rapunzel's hair to her advantage and sings the song to keep her beautiful and young. In order to save Flynn Rider's life, her hair is cut and it loses its magical abilities.

Harry Potter is a character that I grew up around. I’ve been to Harry Potter Land in Universal. I’ve been Harry’s acquaintance, Hermione, for Halloween. I’ve even played with my siblings or friends and pretended to be witches and wizards. Throughout all of this, I’ve never given much thought to the scar that Harry earned in an unlikely battle.

The lightning bolt shaped scar on Harry’s head is special for exactly that reason. Harry earned his scar. He won a battle that no one else has. What does that mean for him? Harry’s scar sets him apart because it shows that he is powerful, strong, and special. Harry isn’t any other boy because he is Harry Potter and his scar makes him who he is.

The lightning maybe even shows that there is hope for the future. I say this because lightning is called lighting for the reason that it emits light. Light reminds my of hope and Harry Potter was the hope for the future.

A character I know of that has physical imperfections is Sloth from 'The Goonies'. I love 'The Goonies' and must have seen it a million times. Sloth is a character that befriends chunk and helps him and his friends throughout the movie. At first Chunk saw Sloth as a terrifying monster because of his deformities, but ended up finding out that he was nice and just wanted something to eat. Sloth's character made the movie a whole lot better and he was the one to save all of them in the end. If it weren't for Sloth none of the kids would have survived and the movie would not have been nearly as interesting and awesome.

  16. A wonderful example of a character in literature who has an imperfection would be "Forrest Gump." He goes through life being different than everyone else is. Forrest's imperfection sculpts who he is and the things he does. Because of his imperfection, Forrest gets himself into many different situations, good and bad. In the movie, he does so many wonderful things, dispite what holds him back. He also is able to find someone he loves because of the way he is. Forrest is a friendly reminder that no imperfection, big or small, can hold you back from anything.

Harry Potter is a very unique character for many reasons, but one of the main things someone familiar with the series thinks of when they hear Harry Potter is the lightning bolt scar he has on his forehead. When Harry was a year old, Voldemort got into his home and tried to kill him but his mother protected him so that Voldemort was not able to kill Harry, only leave a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt. This came as a shock to everyone in the wizarding world because Voldemort had never failed in killing anyone before so Harry became known as "The Boy Who Lived." Later on in the series, we find out that Harry lived through the power of love that his mother showed when she sacrificed her own life for Harry's. Harry's imperfection was proof to the wizarding world that Voldemort was not almighty after all. Harry's encounter with Voldemort when he was a year old was the reason Voldemort got stripped away of his power. As the series progresses, Voldemort is coming into power again and the only person who can defeat him is the person who took his power in the first place, Harry.

Recently, I've gotten into a pretty cool video game I've played before, named "Deus Ex: Human Revolution." The game is set in the future, during the year 2027. In the game, you play as an Ex-SWAT captain by the name of "Adam Jensen," who is now a chief security guard at "Sarif Industries," a company who manufactures robotic augmentations for both public and military use. You are tasked with finding out who attacked your company, and who kidnapped your girlfriend and three other scientists.
In the beginning, you play as a fully human Adam Jensen, during a raid on your company. After the raid, Adam is almost killed; being burned with acid, shot in the head, having his throat crushed, and stabbed by a large amount of glass shards. Six months later, you come back, with a fully augmented body. In the game, you can upgrade your body to have more robotic effects, such as seeing through walls, super strength and speed, and even a top secret military project that makes everything around you explode.
I believe that the augmentations to Adam are a major addition to the story. A big part of the story is that Adam "never asked for this," and yet the augments saved his life. This is important to the story as many people believe that augments are "impure," or "a sin to man." This creates many conflicts for Adam, as many people don't like "Augs" due to those ideas. Another way the augments are important is that they allow Adam to do many things no normal human could do. This includes seeing through walls, having blades that pop out of his arms, built-in sunglasses, and so on. These abilities give Adam an edge over his opponents, and shows the ideas that augments are actually very helpful in what a person can do. All of these ideas, abilities, and thoughts help to create the overall story of the game.

  19. The most distinguishing thing about Harry Potter is that scar shaped like a lighting bolt on his forehead. He received this scar when he was just a baby when Voldemort tried to kill him, but Harry’s mother sacrificed herself in order to save him and it left him with this scar.

Lighting bolts were used in literature back in Greek mythology. In Greek mythology the lightning bolt symbolizes a weapon used only by the gods. In a way Harry is a weapon as well since he’s the only one who can take down Voldemort. There’s a prophecy stating that a boy born at the end of July and that the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal will have the power to take him down. This prophecy is what leads everyone to know that Harry will be the one to defeat Voldemort since has has that lighting bolt scar.

No one has survived Voldemort until Harry Potter. Harry got his scar because he survived Voldemort's death curse with help from his mom. His mom sacrificed herself for Harry. That is a big part of why Harry survived. Voldemort's curse backfired when he tried to kill Harry because of his mom´s sacrifice. When Harry gets older and starts going to Hogwarts the scar tingles sometimes. Him and Voldemort are somewhat connected. When Voldemort is close or upset, Harry can see what Voldemort sees. When Voldemort is close, the scar tingle or itches. The scar symbolizes their connection. The scar is also known to everyone in the wizard world. They all know that Harry is The Boy Who Lived. We all know that without that scar Harry wouldn't be Harry.

One of the first things that popped into my head when it said a scar, physical imperfection, the first thing that came to mind was Scar in “The Lion King”. His name fits him so perfectly, he scares other and leaves scars on them.
Some characteristics that Scar has is that he is deceiving and negative. I feel like the scar on his face represents all of them characteristics. The scar shows that he is deceiving because it makes other wonder how he got the scar. It also shows that he is negative because he got that scar from being in an argument and typically arguments are negative, not positive.

  23. Harry Potter is a well known character because of his lightning bolt scar. However, why did J.K Rowling decide to give him this scar in particular?

As a child, Harry Potter was involved in an attack from Lord Voldemort. This attack ended up killing both his parents, however, Harry ended up living with just a scar. This scar is his mark of greatness. It is there to signify that he was powerful enough to withstand the powers of such a dark Lord. It is ironic that in Greek mythology, the symbol of lightning represents the idea of power. I believe that this is why Rowling made the scar a lightning bolt.

When the Wizarding world found out about the strength of Harry Potter, they nicknamed him “the boy who lived.” He was such a significant person in the wizarding world because it meant that there was a chance the Voldemort could be stopped. All the people would recognize him because of his scar. When they would see his scar, they knew he was marked for greatness, thus treating him differently. Whether that was being nice to him or mean in an act of jealousy.

Without the scar, the people would not have noticed Harry Potter. His story would have not been as remembered. By adding the symbol of a lightning bolt, it sparked a revolution of the hope that Harry’s power could save them all.

Not only was the scar important for the people, it was important to Harry. With his deformity, he knew what it meant and what it stood for. The scar stood for his greatness and power. Seeing his scar reminded him of that. Without it, he may have not reached his absolute potential.

I do not know much about Harry Potter so I did mine on a new game that i've recently picked up. The game is called "Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain." in the story Big Boss is sent on a mission to save two old comrades from an enemy prison. After a successful rescue they board the helicopter and return to their floating base called "Mother Base" they see that it is under attack and the only logical option is to retreat. While they escape the base is completely destroyed and Paz one of the comrades reveals that the enemy implanted a bomb inside her. While trying to remove it their helicopter is shot at by a missile and the explosion puts Boss in a coma for nine years. After he wakes up he sees that he has shrapnel covering 90% of his body. He then looks down at his arm to see that it's been replaced by a robotic one. It takes some time but he soon accepts his new arm even though he "never wanted any of this." His replaced arm soon become a assist and he soon realizes that even though physically he may not always be human he always has what it takes to complete the mission.

To me the scar represents Harry’s uniqueness, his parents died from Lord Voldemort and anyone else would have, except Harry. Harry by some great remarkable thing was not killed that day. So I believe the scar represents his uniqueness and his motivation. That scar was made by the man who killed his parent so, I think it would serve as motivation for Hard to capture Lord Voldemort that way he could not do anymore ham to the people Harry loved, or anyone else for that matter. As for the lightning bolt shape I believe it symbolizes the power and strength Harry has.

When I thought about different examples to use for this chapter, I found that the movie Beauty and the Beast would work. Prince Adam, or more known as Beast in the movie, is imperfect and some would say he has physical deformities considering he isn't human like anymore. But even though he is a beast, he is kind to Belle in most situations because he is still a human inside and wants to be normal again.

  27. The lighting bolt scar that is on Harry's forehead is very special because it makes him who he becomes. Harry had got the scar when he was about a year old and Voldemort came to his home and tried to kill him but Harry's mother protected him and saved him. Harry soon became the boy that lived because he was the first to person to survive Voldemort's attacks. The scar resembles power and strength that he will need throughout the rest of his adventures.

  28. Harry Potter’s scar is a what sets him apart in the wizarding world. He got it when the curse meant to cause his death failed. This made him marked. The enemies of the would be murderer, Voldemort, celebrate him, while the friends of Voldemort hate him. In the middle of this he is an orphan, because Voldemort killed his parents. That is really what the scar is about. It sets him and all of his friends apart. He just wanted a real family and eventually he got one, but the scar still has him marked and reminds him of his parents and he lives with it for the rest of his life.

  29. Harry Potter's scar represent sacrifice and love from his parents. The only reason he has the scar is because his parents sacrificed themselves for Harry. His scar is also shows that he is the chosen one and eventually his time will come to make a sacrifice just like his parents did for him. When his scar hurts, it means something bad is happening, usually it means Voldemort is killing someone, just like when Voldemort killed his parents the day he got the scar. His scar represent sacrifices made to defeat the one who has only sacrificed himself for his own personal gain.

  30. Harry Potter's scar could be taken multiple ways. The most obvious is that it helps show that he is the “chosen one” or “the boy who lived”. That scar is what makes him important and also sets him apart as the hero. That scar could also be taken as a weakness, as whenever Voldemort is around it burns. The scar shows his loss of his parents and stays there as a reminder of that night. It can also be shown as him being the chosen one but not in a good way, that scar can also represent how he is a horcrux for Voldemort. A horcrux is an object that someone has split their soul into to prolong their life. In a way that scar is Voldemort's split soul, and that just increases his importance to the wizarding world.

  31. I have not read about how Harry Potter got his scar, however, if it is a scar then it would have to be after birth. So I chose to write about “Fullmetal Alchemist”. His scar is not really a scar, it is actually where his arm and leg were consumed by the heavens because he tried to bring back someone's life with alchemy. This changes him personally because after living through that part of his life he wants to help others and teach others not to do what he did.

  32. Harry Potter has a lightening bolt scar on his forehead because Voldemort came to James and Lily Potter's house on October 31st, 1981. Voldemort came to murder the Potter family due to a prophecy that he heard. James died first after standing up to Voldemort unarmed. Voldemort then killed Lily who was protecting Harry. For the fact that she died for Harry, when Voldemort shot the killing curse, it backfired and hit him and destroyed his physical form and powers. Because of the scar, Harry has some of Voldemort's soul and powers, which included being able to speak in parsel tongue. This helps builds his character by making him more heroic and more determine to prove himself that he is a good person and that he is in no way linked to Voldemort because of the scar. He would never had to live up to the expectations of the boy who lived. His character wouldn't be so great if he never got the scar. And probably wouldn't have 7 books and 8 movies.

Harry's scar symbolizes how he is the only one in his family to survive the attack by Voldemort. His scar is what puts him away from everyone, not only showing how he couldn't be killed by such a powerful being but also one of his key traits. If you saw someone who didn't have the lightning bolt scar, you'd just assume it was another student of Hogwarts. It's his most unique physical feature. No one else has a scar similar to it and is one of the easiest ways to tell him from the rest. Even if you had only heard of him you could tell it was him just by seeing the scar. It is both a representation of the amount of power he has but also a unique feature to define him by.

  34. When Harry was a baby, his parents were killed by Voldemort, and he was attacked as well, but left with merely a little lightning bolt shaped scar. The lightning bolt is supposed to symbolize power because although Voldemort was successful at killing an immense amount of people, he just wasn't able to defeat harry (even as a baby). Everyone who's read the books knows that the love that Lily had for her son was so strong, even Voldemort couldn't defeat it. Its kind of like a symbol within a symbol. Power of love is so strong, and Harry is powerful, therefore left with this scar. And even throughout the books, the only person that is physically able to bring down Voldemort is Harry Potter himself.

A scar on Harry Potter’s forehead in the shape of a lightning bolt is the result of Lord Voldemort’s failed murder attempt. Harry Potter was the only one to survive the killing curse. The lightning shaped scar is what separates Harry from other wizards. It represents supremacy and power. His scar is also a symbol of hope for the wizard community because he was able to survive the killing curse that “he who must not be named” inflicted upon him. The scar ultimately represents everything that happened to Harry Potter. The bolt of lightning is a powerful symbol and it also plays a role in greek mythology.

  36. Harry Potter’s scar is a symbol of what Voldemort couldn’t overcome. Those things that he is eventually unable to defeat and that will always be with us as a basic part of humanity. What Voldemort couldn’t overcome was love. A mother’s love, a father’s love, the love of friends or teachers or anyone else who has ever cared about you. Harry Potter’s scar shows us what can never be completely wiped away or shattered.

  37. Archetype to me is the general thought of an situation or character, all archetypes aren't the same, and can be found all over literature in different ways.
An example would be “Mean Girls’ it's shows the classic three popular girls that rule the school. As usual the three following things are found in their character; They're mean, rich, and pretty. and like almost all movies have a happy ending in which it includes the three evil queens being taken down. The general character and situation being shown is popularity and the overview on high school society. When someone thinks of that type of behaviour is it usually connected with high school you don’t really think of that type of behavior associated with kindergartners.

In the movie “Finding Nemo” There is a striped black and white angel fish with an scar and shredded fin I think that this scar came from him trying to escape and in the process the got his fin stuck in the rotating thing. Because of this he was either traumatized or unable to try again so therefore nemo would've been useless in this scene.-stephanie martinez

  38. Harry Potter's scar symbolizes that he is the chosen one and that one day he will do something great in life. Harry’s scared also represents his power and strength that will allow him to do great thing in his future. The also represent the sacrifice his parents did for love to him.The scar on his face head also show his connection to Voldemort. Harry is able to sense when Voldemort kills someone and also when he hurt some. The scar also let him know reminds Harry what happened to his parent. Harry Potter's scar also represent the sacrifice he must to save his love someone, like the way his parents sacrificed themselves.

In the Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan, Percy has ADHD and dyslexia. It is said by Riordan that most demigod’s have ADHD because they are hyperactive from the DNA of the gods that they possess. It is also said that they are dyslexic because their brains are hardwired for ancient Greek and they can read it easily. Percy can also stay underwater for long periods of time which is because his father is Poseidon, god of the Sea. These things that are wrong with Percy according to mortals, helps him with his future quests and helps him become the great fighter and hero that he really is.
